These terms govern your use of TinkerPanda. By requesting an account or using the service, you agree to use it lawfully, responsibly and in accordance with these terms.
You must provide accurate signup information, keep your credentials private and tell an administrator promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Accounts are personal and may not be shared. Access starts only after administrator approval.
TinkerPanda provides educational material, practice labs, community features and managed virtual environments. It does not guarantee examination success, certification, employment or uninterrupted availability. Technical content is educational and is not a substitute for professional advice in a production environment.
You retain ownership of original notes and messages you create. You give TinkerPanda permission to store and display them only as needed to operate the service. You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy and respect other learners, platform security and intellectual-property rights.
Features and learning content may change as the platform improves. Access may be restricted or ended when necessary to protect users, infrastructure or the service, or when these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached. Where practical, users will be told why.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, TinkerPanda is not responsible for indirect loss caused by use of training material outside the managed learning environment. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
Use Help Center or Support inside TinkerPanda for questions about these terms, your account or the service.
TinkerPanda uses personal data to review account requests, provide the learning service, protect the platform and support learners. The operator is TinkerPanda; contact the administrator through Help Center or Support.
Signup details include your name, requested username, email address and a one-way password hash. If approved, the service also records account status, learning progress, quiz and activity results, preferences, notes, communications, support requests, virtual-machine activity, security events, IP address and browser or device information needed for operation and protection.
We process account and learning data to provide the service and perform our agreement with you. We process security, diagnostic and limited usage records for our legitimate interests in preventing abuse, maintaining reliability and improving TinkerPanda. Where consent is the appropriate basis, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Data is available only to authorised administrators and service providers needed to host, secure or operate TinkerPanda. We do not sell personal data. If a provider processes data outside the UK, appropriate contractual or other lawful safeguards will be used.
Pending requests are kept while they are reviewed. After a decision, the request password hash is deleted and the remaining decision record is retained for security and audit needs. Account and learning data is kept while the account is active and for a limited period afterwards based on legal, security, backup and operational requirements.
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing. Use Help Center or Support to make a request. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Name, username, email and password are needed to review and create an account. Without them TinkerPanda cannot process the request. There is no solely automated decision-making: an administrator accepts or denies every signup request.
A returning-visitor cookie remembers that this browser has signed in before, so signed-out members return to Sign in instead of the landing page. It lasts up to one year, contains no account identity, and does not sign you in. Clearing browser cookies resets this preference.
TinkerPanda currently uses only essential session technology needed to sign you in securely, remember an optional login on your device, protect account access and retain interface choices.
After sign-in, a signed HttpOnly session cookie identifies the authenticated session. If you choose “Remember login”, that session may last for up to 30 days; otherwise it is limited to the browser session. Passwords are not stored in this cookie.
Your browser may keep interface choices such as theme, reader state or dismissed guidance locally on the device. These settings support the requested experience and are not used for advertising.
TinkerPanda does not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If non-essential cookies are introduced, this notice will be updated and consent will be requested before they are used where required.
You can remove cookies and local data in your browser settings. Removing essential session data signs you out and may reset saved interface choices.
TinkerPanda is a hands-on learning service. Use its activities, community spaces and managed virtual machines in ways that are safe, lawful and respectful.
Keep experiments inside assigned environments and follow activity boundaries. Stop if a command could affect an unknown system, shared resource or third party. Report security issues privately through Support rather than exploiting or publishing them.
TinkerPanda may limit sessions, isolate resources, preserve relevant security evidence or suspend an account to prevent harm. Serious unlawful activity may be reported when required by law.
TinkerPanda wants its learning service to be usable by as many people as possible. The platform aims for WCAG 2.2 AA and supports keyboard navigation, visible focus, labelled controls, adaptable text and semantic page structure.
TinkerPanda is partially compliant while a complete independent accessibility audit is pending. Some complex diagrams, browser-based virtual-machine consoles, dense data tables, legacy training content and drag-based controls may not yet offer an equivalent experience in every assistive technology.
If content or a control is difficult to use, contact Help Center or Support and identify the page, activity and format you need. TinkerPanda will provide a reasonable alternative where possible and use the report to prioritise improvements.
This statement is based on internal keyboard, contrast, responsive-layout and semantic checks. It will be reviewed after major interface changes and at least annually. Formal conformance testing remains planned.
