THE COMPLETE PLATFORM TOUR

See your learning come together.

Take a ten-minute tour of TinkerPanda. Explore the tools, practical learning and connected workflows that help you understand a topic, put it to work and keep building your skills.

MORE THAN A PLACE TO WATCH

A lesson should lead somewhere.

A video can introduce an idea. A reference can explain a command. Practice shows you what happens when you use it. TinkerPanda brings these experiences into one workspace, so you can move between them with a purpose.

Understand

Use explanations, diagrams and references to make the topic clearer.

Apply

Work through a task, a build or an investigation using the format that fits.

Remember

Return through reviews and recall practice, with your notes and progress close by.

Investigate

Follow clues in a scenario and explain why you chose the next action.

Build

Create a working solution through projects and Code Hub exercises.

Connect

Move from a lesson to its commands, diagrams and reference material.

Test yourself

Use quizzes and exams to find which topics need another look.

Keep your work

Save useful notes and bookmarks so you can return to them later.

Get help

Ask a question through support or study chat when you get stuck.

SKILLS YOU CAN BUILD

Give your next skill somewhere to grow.

Content that helps you learn

Understand the idea. Practice it. Check what you learned.

Start with a clear idea

Goals and an introduction explain what the topic is and why it matters before you begin the practical work.

Understand each command

Practical steps connect a command with its purpose and the result to look for. You can follow what changed instead of just copying a line.

Learn from the result

Troubleshooting links a symptom to something you can check. Exercises let you test your understanding and open a solution when you need it.

Keep the main ideas

Key points bring the lesson back to its main ideas. Further reading gives you a way to explore the subject in more depth.

Choose the right kind of practice

Activities teach a topic through practical steps. Reviews bring earlier ideas together, while lectures give you room to read an explanation in depth.

Return without starting over

Notes and saved pages keep useful material close. Your progress helps you find where to continue, and recall practice gives earlier topics another visit.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

A few useful things to know.

Do I need to be experienced already?

You can start with core Linux topics or follow a role-focused path. More advanced work is available as your understanding grows.

Does everything require a virtual machine?

No. Reading, diagrams and many learning tools work directly in the browser. Supported practical tasks can use managed VMs; some specialised work needs a suitable external system.

What is included in my account?

Access depends on the membership and feature. Check the current Cub and Citizen comparison before choosing. Managed machines are subject to approval, available capacity and platform limits.

Compare membership →
What does my progress record mean?

It records work and achievements within TinkerPanda. Platform titles, certificates and Skills Passport are learning records; they do not replace an external vendor certification.

How do I choose what to learn next?

Start with a Learning Path for a technical role, or browse Activities by domain when you have a specific topic in mind. Each path shows its prerequisites and checkpoints.

Can I save notes and come back later?

Yes. Use Notebook for your learning notes and Bookmarks for useful pages. Recents helps you reopen material you visited, while Progress shows the work recorded on your account.

Where can I get help if I get stuck?

Open Help Center for platform guides or use Live Chat to contact support. Study chat and the Message Board also give you places to discuss a technical question with other learners.

How do titles and achievements work?

Achievements recognise milestones across the platform. Role titles have their own requirements, which can include a learning path and an exam. The Titles page shows what you need and lets you choose an earned title to display.

Can I learn without following a complete course?

Yes. Micros focus on a small task, while Commands, Glossary and diagrams help with a specific question. Access depends on your account and the prerequisites of the material you choose.

What happens when I leave a practice VM idle?

After 15 minutes without input inside the VM, TinkerPanda saves its state and pauses it. Resume it to continue your work. Signing out requests a graceful shutdown; resuming may wait for available capacity.
